Yesterday, instead of writing this newsletter, I spent the day sick on the couch (not with Covid, luckily) watching The Kardashians while mainlining potato chips and tea, so what I have for you today is…an anniversary retrospective. I started this little love letter three years ago (!!) with 60 people on the mailing list and it has grown so far beyond what I ever imagined. I love, love, love having you all here. I love hearing back from you. I love thinking of you as I write.
So in honor of all these extremely odd years and so many hundreds of thousands of words later, below I’ve linked to some of my old faves — this is especially for those of you who are newer here (these are all actual Tiny Letters). It’s a nice little romp through Covid in real time! (Yes, a joke. But also, yes, they are mostly at least tangentially related to Covid.)
Feel free to peruse at your leisure all week long and we will reunite next week with a fresh essay! (And check below for upcoming classes.) Thank you, as ever, for reading. xo
On what emerges out of nothing
On childhood summers at the pool
On the horrible pandemic school year ending
On another pandemic school year starting
The substrack archives. And books!
