I hope you guys get to travel a bit. We spent a month in the U.K. Lake District this past summer and loved it. Can't wait to hear more about your thoughts of living in the U.K.

Oooh! I'd love to hear where, exactly, and that you'd recommend!

I loved Grasmere. So charming and a great playground for my daughter. It would make for a great long weekend - or the whole time I was there I kept thinking this would be such a romantic getaway. Bowness-on-Windermere is bigger. It was too much like being in Newport, R.I. for me but definitely had more kid activities/restaurants etc. Beatrice Potter is from the area and you can actually visit her home. I didn't rent a car the month we were there and found the public transportation to be very accessible even with a 3 year old but you do have to plan that it will take longer to get around.

Thank you for sharing this and love your writing as always. I think there's something to her approach to these friendships. And without the pressure I bet she will end up with lifelong friendships. It doesn't all have to be as big of a deal as we think it does, ya know? Maybe this is also something that is very easy to easy to say since I'm not living it! Anyway, I'm very excited for you and to read more about your adventures and musings :)

This is so sweetly recounted. I love the story of your adventure falling in love and now of how your daughter is living with chosen gusto in this new place. I especially love your advice about friendships: you might be friends for a long time ❣️ so much a whole heart in there, it was a wonderful Friday breakfast to start my day!
